A Great Weekend With Great Music

5-6-05
Showplace Theatre

Middleman started out the show. It was great to be able to see them again. They did a great job as usual. To bad they didn't get to play longer. I can't wait to see them play again even though I don't know when that will be.

The Great Mistake played next. They threw out t-shirts during their set and I got one. They also gave out free demo C.D.s and I got one too. After they got done playing I had them sign my shirt. They got a new drummers since they made the shirts so I asked on of them to draw the new drummer on my shirt and Mike crossed out the older drummer.

Up next was Jared Campbell. He is a singer songwriter. I really like him. He is going to be at Spot Coffee on May 26th. I might go and see him but I'm not sure. During his soudcheck he did "Chariot" by Gavin DeGraw. I wish he did the whole song.

Any December ws the last band to play. I saw them before but I didn't realize just how talented they really are until last night.

It was a great night full of great music. I can't wait to do it again.

5-7-05
Cahills

When I first got to Cahills Rob Bilson said HI to me and gave me a hug. He asked me if I had any requests I told him no because he caught me off guard and I couldn't think of any songs. I sat down at a table and Rob Ferenc and John said HI to me.

I really liked their song tonight. It was a little more laid back and it was a change of pace for me. I think this show makes the top five favorite SDF shows for me.

They did three sets. They did alot of cover songs which was okay for me. My favorite covers the did were "I Don't Want To Be" (Gavin DeGraw), "She Will Be Loved" (Maroon 5), and "I Want You To Want Me" (Cheap Trick). Their versions of all those songs are awesome. During their first break I asked Rob Bilson to play "Somebody Save Me" for me and he played it towards the end of the second set for me. The last song they did was "Forever And A Day". Rob Bilson played the drums for part of the song. He is good at it but I guess he can't do two things at once cause he kept messing up the words to the song.

Tonight was a great night and I had so much fun. I even met to new friends, Jen and Shelly. I can't wait to see the guys again. I know it will be just as fun.
